Sara Evans has a knack for turning annoying cheesy adult-contemporary pop songs into pretty good country records. She made a much better version of Edwin McCain's "I Could Not Ask For More" and now she's redeemed Rod Stewart's "My Heart Can't Tell You No."
That opening line (I don't want you comin' 'round here no more/I beg you for mercy) works really well in a country song.
